Pulling inspiration from film and lavish movie sets, as well as combining the boldest elements of modernism made famous in Palm Springs, Beverly Hills and Palm Beach, this glamorous collection features unapologetic color, regal motifs, and delightful energy. Think Mod, ie. Twiggy, Courreges Spacesuits, The Rat Pack, The Beverly Hills Hotel, Slim Aarons iconic photographs, and a combination of Palm Beach, Hollywood and Beverly Hills Regency style embodied through the work of architects and designers, such as Dorothy Draper, Elsie de Wolfe, David Hicks, John Woolf and William (Billy) Haines, who were hired to transform the homes of film stars in Hollywood’s Golden Age of the 1930s through to 1960′s.
Neo-classical lines mixed with Hollywood glamour and a top note of mod moxie. Hollywood Regency was a style of architecture and decoration that became particularly popular in the 60s, that was a revival of classical regency style through a modern lens. Hollywood Regency added a layer of pattern and decoration and opulence and glamour to the minimalism of mid-century modernism.
